Click to Dial is a browser extension that turns phone numbers on web pages into links that open your desktop phone app. It works entirely inside your browser.
Last updated: 28 October 2026
The extension reads the text of the web pages you view, only to find phone numbers and make them clickable. That reading happens on your computer, inside your browser.
Your choices (on or off, dialling prefix, converting +44 numbers, and the sites it is switched off for) are saved with your browser's own settings storage and, if you use browser sync, synced by your browser. We do not receive them.
When you click a number, the extension hands it to your browser as a standard phone link (tel:). Your computer then passes it to the phone app you have chosen for such links, for example DT Desktop Direct, DT Desktop or DT One. What that app does with the number is described in that app's own policy.
